General Information
Wombat Hills is a peaceful retreat in a stunning mountain location. The first thing you'll notice is the eagle's eye view of rolling hills to blue mountains right across the horizon. The jetty on our private lake is an ideal place to unwind and enjoy the scenery. Borrow a fishing rod and see if the trout will accept your invitation to dinner. If not, console yourself with drinks in the gazebo built over the lake and wait for another glorious mountain sunset reflected in the water.
There are two romantic cottages, Fern and Snowgum, which are designed especially for couples. If you want to bring friends or family Rose cottage is ideal. The three stone cottages are nestled amongst acres of beautiful gardens where there are several quiet nooks to sit with a cuppa and admire the scenery. You might spot a kangaroo just outside your door and you'll be amazed at the number of birds.
It's easy to lose track of time as you laze in the hammocks on your verandah watching the light change over the valleys below. When you add to this:

If you wish to cook your own meals, all cottages have full kitchens, including gas stoves, electric frypans & microwave ovens with the fresh herbs stored in the garden so that you only need bring perishables.
If that all sounds just too hard then you can arrange to have a hamper breakfast awaiting you in your cottage so that you can rise at your leisure in the morning and cook it just the way you like it.
Breakfast hampers are generous and include choices of juice, cereals, eggs and bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, croissants, toast & pancakes.
We can also cater for your other meals with delicious Platters available all year round. During the cooler months (Jun-Oct), you'll also find the freezer stocked with a range of pre-cooked delicious meals ready for dinner by the fire. Our menu style is modern Australian cuisine. During the warmer months (Nov-May) we supply gourmet Barbecue hampers 7 days a week. Each cottage has its own gas barbecue and outdoor dining area. On warm nights enjoy dinner in your courtyard or in the gazebo by the lake. (Pre book the gazebo to avoid disappointment)
To complement your meal you'll find your minibar stocked with a selection of fine local wines as well as premium lagers and ales.
