Echuca's River Gallery Inn is situated in the beautiful Central Murray Region, and just a couple of minutes stroll to the Historic Port Precinct.
Dominated by one of the world’s great rivers, The Murray is a region of vineyards, fertile pastures and historic villages situated on the southern border of New South Wales. The river’s eco-system is still home to unique and ancient forests of river red gums, extensive wetlands and untouched semi-arid areas that can be accessed by wetland tours.
Explore the Murray from the paddle steamer capital of Australia, Echuca-Moama is redolent of romance and history. This was once the largest inland port in the Southern Hemisphere. From here you can take a cruise or hire a houseboat. Paddle steamers and riverboats still pull into the historic Red Gum Wharf, which has been fully restored.
The Echuca - Moama District now boasts five wineries and cellar doors. Arriving at a Winery for lunch and wine - tasting aboard an historic Paddlesteamer is a very unique experience.
One of the unique qualities that Echuca has to offer is the faithful restoration of the town buildings and public areas. From the historic port area, to the streetscapes with large verandahs, wide streets and smiling townspeople. Echuca is set to charm even the most seasoned of travellers.
