Quamby Falls at 116 metres high is the highest waterfall in Southern Queensland and the highest privately owned waterfall in Australia. Emanating from a spring almost at the lip of the waterfall, it delivers distilled water from an extinct and ancient volcano With 50 acres of rainforest, home to a number of rare and endangered species, this is a delight for botanists, bird watchers, photographers and nature lovers with an appreciation of the pristine and scenic environment. A network of walking trails and a knowledgeable guide provides access to our rainforest and spectacular waterfalls or extended walks to near by caves and World Heritage mountain tops. Natural Bridge National Park with its waterfall cave and world famous glow worms is at our front gate.
You may enjoy the tranquillity of kayaking on peaceful rural rivers or a placid lake, appreciating the mirror-like reflections and wild life. Numerous colourful birds frequent the trees and river banks, while tortoises slip quietly from semi-submerged logs and an occasional platypus ripples the silver surface.
Like Fairies in the bottom of the garden, you may thrill to the rarely seen mating dance of the Fire Flies, in season September to November.
